It forms an organo-metallic layer on treated metals and acts as a special 2 in 1 rust killer and primer combining an aqueous rust treatment with a tough permeable surface coating. No sand blasting or other time consuming preparation required - simply brush or spray on. The Rust Convertor renders rust inert and can be used on all rusted metal in engineering works, vehicle maintenance, offshore establishments and where rust is a problem. It removes loose rust with a wire brush sufficient to expose some bare metal which is applied by brush or spray to prepared surface. A layer of iron tannate physically bonds to the remaining rust to form an insoluble layer 12-25 microns thick. The Rust Convertor leaves for 2-4 hours where upon colour will change from milky white through blue to a black colour. The surface can be painted over if desired.
